- Changes in the color and sensitivity of the tongue in adult women after COVID-19 treatmentPublication . Fontes, Luciana; Correia, Maria da Conceição; Marques, Kátia; Fontes, Pedro; Silva, Nayara; Gomes, Marília; Fernandes, Rita; Cunha, Daniele; Silva, Hilton Justino; Santos, Leonardo; Lima, NiedjeObjectives: to describe the changes in color and sensitivity of the tongue in adult women, in the period after the treatment of COVID-19 and explain the dental conduct for treatment. Case report: there was a request for dental evaluation by a public and reference University Hospital in the city of Recife, northeast of Brazil. The patient in question was a 33 years-old white female. There was a history of diagnosis and treatment for COVID-19, with antibiotic, antipyretic and medication for worms, with the complaint of much sensitivity and change in language. The physical examination showed gingivitis in the lower sextant, with spontaneous gingival bleeding and dark spots on the dorsum of the tongue, associated with increased discomfort in the region. It was observed that the patient did not receive any orientation about oral hygiene, even with the report of pain in this region. It was opted for the orientation of the hygienization, with the reinforcement of the cleanness of the tongue, cheeks with hydrogen peroxide or oxygenated water to 10 volumes and the reinforcement for the ingestion of vitamin C, beyond the control of the biofilm, for the treatment of the gingivitis in the anterior and inferior sextant. Conclusions: this report covers the control made in seven days, being the images referring to the third day after the guidelines. There was a change in the color of the tongue and sensibility, with regular ingestion of food and liquids. There was also an improvement in gingivitis, but control is necessary.

- Contributions of a Rehabilitation Nursing Program in the Self-Care of Women Undergoing Breast SurgeryPublication . Rodrigues, Tânia; Moreira, Maria Teresa; Lima, Andreia; Fernandes, Rita; Gomes, BárbaraBackground: Although surgical treatments for breast cancer have exhibited advanced interventions, axillary lymph node dissection can limit functionality and compromise women’s self-care. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of a rehabilitation nursing program in improving self-care performance in women undergoing breast surgery with axillary lymph node dissection. Methods: This quantitative, quasi-experimental study involved 48 women recruited from a main hospital between 2018 and 2019. The participants completed a three-month rehabilitation program at home. The evaluation instrument used was the DASH questionnaire. This study was not registered. Results: The functionality of the upper limb ipsilateral to the surgery improved significantly (p < 0.001) after the implementation of the program, influencing the participants’ capacity for self-care, including washing/drying their hair, washing their back, and wearing a shirt. The average DASH total score increased from 54.4 to 8.1 after the program. Conclusions: The rehabilitation nursing program positively influenced the participants’ self-care ability. Incorporating rehabilitation nursing programs into breast cancer treatment can improve self-care performance and the overall quality of patients’ lives. This study was not registered.

- Cross-cultural Adaptation and Validation of the Quebec Back Pain Disability Scale to European Portuguese LanguagePublication . Cruz, Eduardo Brazete; Fernandes, Rita; Carnide, Filomena; Vieira, Ana; Moniz, Sara; Nunes, FilipaLow back pain (LBP) is an extremely commonly health condition. It is a musculoskeletal complaint affecting most people at some point in their lives and the consequent health care, community, and personal costs are considerable. The clinical course of acute LBP has been described as initially favorable; however, beyond 6 weeks, only very small reductions in mean pain and disability seem to occur. According to a recent meta-analysis 6 individuals with persistent LBP are expected to have moderate levels of pain and disability. In these individuals, pain can fl uctuate over time with recurrences or exacerbations and has a major impact on their functionality. In the majority of the situations (85%), chronic LBP (CLBP) could not be assigned to a recognizable, known, specifi c pathology 15 , 16 and it is most accurately labeled as nonspecific CLBP (NSCLBP). Individuals with NSCLBP are commonly referred to physiotherapy services, 17 where reducing pain and disability are the main treatment goals and outcomes. The Quebec Back Pain Disability Scale (QBPDS) is one of the most recommended questionnaires to assess functional disability associated with LBP. It was developed as a measure of “functional disability,” which was defined by the authors as “perceived difficulty associated with simple physical activities.” It is a self-administered, 20-item questionnaire where patients are asked to rate their degree of difficulty in performing a specifi c activity from 0 (“not diffi cult at all”) to 5 (“unable to do”) in each item. The QBPDS score ranges from 0 to 100, with high values indicating higher levels of disability. The QBPDS has been extensively tested and is generally acknowledged to have good validity, reliability, and responsiveness. It has been translated and culturally adapted into different languages, including Portuguese from Brazil. However, the cultural and linguistic differences between the European Portuguese and the Brazilian Portuguese languages inhibit the use of the Brazilian version among Portuguese people. Therefore, the aim of this study was to conduct the crosscultural adaptation of the Portuguese version of the QBPDS and investigate its reliability and validity in patients with CLBP. This article is part of a larger research project aiming to validate tools with clinical relevance.

Tomás, Sara; Silva, Sofia; Marques, Goreti; Fernandes, Rita; Barcelos, OlíviaIntrodução: A hospitalização confere vulnerabilidade à criança e família, desencadeando sentimentos como medo e insegurança.
