Este artigo é parte de uma investigação mais abrangente que teve como objetivo analisar o lugar que a matemática ocupou nos programas oficiais do Ensino Secundário, então designado de Ensino Liceal, desde a criação dos liceus, em 1835 até ao final da ditadura. Se a data de 12 de Julho de 1870 constitui um marco na história do ensino em Portugal, uma vez que assinala a criação do Ministério da Instrução Pública, 23 de dezembro de 1870 parece-nos também incontornável já que é exatamente nesta data que são publicados os primeiros programas oficiais do Ensino Liceal. E a esse respeito analisamos as caraterísticas deste primeiro programa, que especifica para cada ano e para cada tópico, os conteúdos a abordar.
This article is part of a broader investigation that aimed to analyse the place that mathematics held in the official programs of secondary education, then referred to secondary education, since the creation of high schools in 1835 until the end of the dictatorship. If the date of July 12, 1870 is a milestone in the history of education in Portugal, and also marks the creation of the Ministry of Education, December 23, 1870 it seems also unavoidable since it is exactly on this date that are published the first official programs of secondary education. And in this regard we analyse the characteristics of this first program, specific for each year and for each topic, the contents to be approach.
