Resumo(s)
As montanhas escondem lugares, distinguem paisagens e criam ambientes.
The mountains hide places, distinguish landscapes and create environments. Environments that do not repeat, but transform, giving rise to plateaus, rock escarpments, dense areas of forest, fields and agricultural terraces. In Arouca, the landscapes are capable of telling stories, which once reflected hard times and war. Today, all that remains is ruins. Ruins that establish a symbiosis between man and nature, in a constant connection between the mining structures and the rural landscape, making it a fragile and unique territory that demands preservation. The architecture emerges as an integral element of the landscape capable of reviving places that hold a past, which are forgotten in time, protecting them from the fleeting degradation and making a difference, equaly granting them a future. Therefore, a project that aimed the valorization of the mining industrial heritage in the complexes of Regoufe and Rio de Frades was made.
