Abstract(s)
This report, entitled “Childhood Literature and the development of emotions in children”, was developed within the scope of the Curricular Unit of Educational Practice I, integrated into the Master's Degree in Pre-School Education and Teaching of the 1st Cycle of Basic Education. The main objective of this study was to investigate how Children's Literature can be used as a pedagogical resource to promote the development of socio-emotional skills in four-year-old children. During the curricular internship in Kindergarten, activities were implemented based on the Project Work Methodology, aligned with the principles of the Modern School Move-ment, which call for the active and collaborative participation of children in their learning process. Through these proposals, it was possible to explore the importance of emotional education, encouraging children to manage and express their emotions in a healthy way, but also promoting a taste for reading and Artistic Education. This experience was crucial for my professional growth, allowing me to combine theoretical knowledge with pedagogical practice and reinforce the importance of an educational approach that values a child’s global development.
