- Clinical usefulness of the electroencephalogram in acute stroke: a preliminary studyPublication . In the first hours of the event, the cranioencephalic CT scan (CT Scan) does not show the lesion in about 74% of cases, making validation of alternative diagnostic approaches of utmost importance. The electroencephalogram (EEG) may provide useful information for the diagnosis and prognosis of stroke. Objective: To study the potential usefulness of the EEG for the early diagnosis of acute stroke in patients with initial negative CT Scan, and for the evaluation of the functional status and risk of epilepsy. Methods: Retrospective analysis of patients with ischemic stroke who underwent EEG and acute phase CT scan between January 2014 and February 2018. Patient characteristics and stroke were classified according to the Oxfordshire Community Stroke Project (OCSP) criteria. The patients were functionally evaluated at 12 months post-stroke by the modified Rankin Scale (mRS) and the existence of post-stroke epilepsy was determined by telephone interview on February 2018. Results: Thirty patients (25 females and 5 males, mean age 70.5 years) were included. According to the OCSP were identified: 40% TACS, 37% PACS, 10% LACS and 13% POCS. 50% with acute vascular injury visible on the initial CT Scan performed with 7 hours of evolution in median. All patients underwent EEG with a median of 3 days of evolution, and slow focal activity was observed in all patients, and focal paroxysmal activity (PA) was seen in 17% of the participants. 17 patients (58% of patients) developed post-stroke epilepsy (PSE) with 4 of these having PA evidence in the initial EEG (24%). One of the patients with PA in the initial EEG did not develop epilepsy during a 4 years follow-up period. In patients without PA, the average of mRs at follow-up was 3.8 and the mortality was 24%, whereas in patients with PA, the mean of the mRs was 5.0 and the mortality was 40%. Conclusion: In this study, unlike CT Scan, the acute-phase EEG presented with abnormal features in all patients with acute stroke, therefore the EEG may potentially provide significant diagnostic information, estimates of risk for developing future epilepsy and also overall risk stratification. Further studies are needed to validate this hypothesis.

Bettencourt, Beatriz Almeida Vasconcelos; Sabino, AnaO presente relatório surge de um conjunto de tarefas desenvolvidas ao longo do estágio curricular que realizei, no âmbito da obtenção do grau de Mestre em Gestão de Recursos Humanos. O alegado estágio desenvolveu-se na everis Centers Lisboa, no departamento de people. O relatório apresenta um enquadramento teórico alinhado com às atividades desenvolvidas ao longo do estágio. Os principais tópicos abordados foram o recrutamento, seleção, otimização dos processos e por fim a motivação dos colaboradores. Após o desenvolvimento destes tópicos descrevo todas as tarefas realizadas no estágio de forma pormenorizada. Em último, o referente relatório apresenta um balanço crítico das atividades desenvolvidas em concordância com a revisão de literatura.

Optou-se pela área de Recursos Humanos porque hoje em dia, o departamento dos Recursos Humanos desempenha um papel fundamental nas Organizações e na sustentabilidade das mesmas. A SGS, onde se realizou o estágio, é a prova disso mesmo, apesar do objetivo principal da empresa acentuar na inspeção, verificação, testes e certificação de produtos e serviços, esta Organização aposta abundantemente nos Recursos Humanos como o elemento-chave do sucesso. Este departamento assume uma função essencial na relação com os colaboradores, mas também enquanto parceiro estratégico das diferentes áreas de negócio e da gestão de topo da organização. Assim, com a realização deste relatório pretende-se aprofundar as tarefas desenvolvidas no estágio, seguidas de um balanço critico devidamente sustentado por uma revisão de literatura. Apesar do estágio ter sido efetuado em diferentes áreas do departamento de Recursos Humanos, optou se por desenvolver e aprofundar teoricamente a área da Formação. O estágio curricular obtido possibilitou gerar conhecimento sobre a temática, sendo possível obter diversas conclusões sobre quatro áreas distintas, a Gestão Administrativa dos Recursos Humanos, a Formação, a Responsabilidade Social Corporativa e a Comunicação Interna.

A Whitaker International oferece sua experiência em segmentação de mercado do consumidor, pesquisa de mercado e desenvolvimento de produtos por estilo de vida para varejistas, fabricantes e outros negócios em todo o mundo. Este estágio dividiu-se em 2 partes: a primeira consistiu nas explicações concedidos a mim pela fundadora e Ceo da organização sobre as áreas de Recrutamento e Seleção, formação, Avaliação de Funções e a segunda parte consistiu no desenvolvimento práticos do estágio. Entender a necessidade do cliente e conseguir alinhar toda a equipa da organização para antecipar as aspirações dos consumidores tem sido o diferencial neste mercado competitivo que se reflectiu durante a realização do estágio.

With the aim of disseminating the importance of the multiple growth studies and of their application to improve the knowledge on the biology and dynamics of the commercially exploited species, a summary of the techniques and methodologies applied in the Laboratory of eclerochronology is included.
