- Precarious organizing and beyond: the case of arts and construction industryPublication . Marques, Joana S.; Veloso, LuísaOngoing reconfigurations of work under contemporary global capitalism increasingly defy the centrality of the workplace for workers’ organizing. Some sectors, though, have always been challenged by the lack of a stable workplace and by the temporary nature of work relations. That is the case of the arts and construction industry which provide longstanding examples of precarious and mobile work and have been related to precarious organizing. Despite representing two distinct sectors of the workforce, they present a set of similarities that challenge the possibilities of workers’ organisation and mobilisation: the temporary, project-based nature of work; the precarious employment arrangements, often informal; the mobile nature of work activities, not linked to a fixed workplace. Based on the Portuguese context, this paper provides a comparative analysis of both sectors, arguing on their analytical significance to explore new forms of workers’ solidarity and broader terrains of struggle.
- Transformar o mundo pelo trabalho, pela estética e pela política: uma análise de coletivos teatrais como utopias reaisPublication . Marques, Joana S.O presente artigo debruça-se sobre os coletivos de artistas a partir do enquadramento teórico da ciência social emancipatória de Erik Olin Wright. A análise comparativa de coletivos teatrais em Portugal e no Brasil evidencia o caráter precário do trabalho artístico, mas revela também múltiplas resistências através de diferentes dinâmicas de organização e ação coletiva. Através de dois estudos de caso procura-se demonstrar como alguns coletivos teatrais, tal como proposto por Wright, (1) elaboram um diagnóstico e crítica do mundo e do sistema capitalista, (2) imaginam e procuram colocar na prática alternativas “viáveis” e (3) debruçam-se sobre os obstáculos e as possibilidades de transformação. O argumento central é que estes coletivos constituem organizações emancipatórias que articulam a sua linguagem artística com novas formas de organização social e de produção.

- 8 country reports on Work-based adult education providersPublication . Ateliere Fără FrontiereThis report aims at responding to work-based adult education providers network initiators needs for better understanding their context and key stakeholders with the potential to enable them to scale up. Thanks to this report, partners of the Net-Works project – as well as other potential organisations interested in creating or strengthening networks of work- based adult education providers – may identify key actors, potential beneficiaries, relevant legislation and financial instruments into force in the analysed countries. Briefly, this deliverable responds to the specific objective of networks capacity-building (OMT1 Networks capacity building) of the Net-Works project, co-financed by the Erasmus+ programme. These objective addresses, in particular, the insufficient connection and networking between the different subjects involved in social inclusion and adult education within the workplace and are looking to develop synergies and to establish a dialogue that provides an exchange of skills and experiences within social economy and beyond, by collaborating with public decision-makers and by carrying out positive lobbying actions.

Ateliere Fără FrontiereEste relatório visa responder às necessidades dos iniciadores de redes de prestadores de educação de adultos no local de trabalho, para uma melhor compreensão do seu contexto e das principais partes interessadas com potencial para a sua expansão. Através deste relatório, os parceiros do projeto Net-Works - assim como outras organizações potencialmente interessadas em criar ou reforçar redes prestadoras de serviços de educação de adultos no local de trabalho - poderão identificar os agentes do setor, potenciais beneficiários, legislação relevante e instrumentos financeiros em vigor nos países em análise. Em suma, este resultado corresponde ao objetivo específico de reforço da capacidade das redes (OMT1 Networks capacity building) do projeto Net- Works, cofinanciado pelo programa Erasmus+. Este objetivo aborda, em particular, a insuficiente interligação e ligação em rede entre os diversos temas envolvidos na inclusão social e na educação de adultos no local de trabalho, procurando desenvolver sinergias e estabelecer um diálogo que proporcione um intercâmbio de competências e experiências no âmbito da economia social e fora dela, colaborando com os decisores públicos e realizando ações positivas de lobby.
