Abstract(s)
When the Portuguese public think of Germany, they do not automatically think about their food like they normally would with Italian or Chinese food. Internationally German cuisine is not ranked in with its following competitors because of its lack of ability to show what they really are and what they can do. When people think of German food they tend think of beer and sausages. But Germany has a lot more to offer. This dissertation will follow the creation of a diary/cookbook following the life of Paula Galaz, a Portuguese/German citizen who has lived in Berlin, Germany for more than 30 years and her experiences with German gastronomy. It will take a step-by- step look into how to construct, layout and create a non- traditional book demo that will eventually be published and put up on the shelves of every bookstore in Portugal. This is how “Mais do que Sauerkraut” was developed.
