Abstract(s)
A família desempenha um papel fundamental na vida das crianças e dos jovens. Porém,
quando este não consegue cumprir com as necessidades das crianças e jovens, o Estado tem que
intervir para assegurar as necessidades e o desenvolvimento das crianças e dos jovens.
As casas de acolhimento têm que proporcionar as condições necessárias para que as
crianças e jovens tenham as suas necessidades asseguradas, de modo que tenham um
desenvolvimento integral. Um dos aspetos que as casas de acolhimento devem promover é a
autonomia.
Tendo em consideração a importância da temática da autonomia, o estágio realizado
num Lar de Infância e Juventude no norte do país permitiu perceber o trabalho que esta
instituição realiza relativamente às competências da autonomia com as jovens. O plano de
intervenção teve por base um projeto com diversas sessões, tendo estas como objetivo o
desenvolvimento destas mesmas competências.
Pelo meio da informação recolhida através da observação participante e de outras
técnicas foi possível recolher dados para perceber o funcionamento e rotinas da instituição,
especialmente o trabalho que a equipa técnica desenvolve com as jovens no que concerne às
competências de autonomia.
Assim, desenvolveu-se um projeto de intervenção que teve como finalidade o
desenvolvimento das competências de autonomia.
Family plays a fundamental role in the lives of children and young people. However, when it fails to meet the needs of children and young people, the State has to intervene to ensure the needs and development of children and young people. Residential shelters have to provide the necessary conditions for children and youth to have their needs met, so that they can have a full development. One of the aspects that residential shelters should promote is autonomy. Taking into account the importance of the theme of autonomy, the internship developed in a Children and Youth Home in the north of the country allowed us to understand the work that this institution does regarding autonomy skills with young girls. The intervention plan was based on a project with several sessions aimed at developing these same skills. Through the information collected through participant observation and other techniques, it was possible to collect data to understand the functioning and routines of the institution, especially the work that the technical team does with the girls regarding autonomy skills. Thus, an intervention project was developed with the purpose of developing autonomy skills.
