| dc.description.abstract | A agenesia é uma anomalia frequentemente encontrada pelo médico dentista, onde uma ou mais peças dentárias, se podem encontrar ausentes. Esta é uma anomalia comum quer na dentição decídua, quer na dentição definitiva. Podem ocorrer inúmeros problemas com esta anomalia, quer a nível estético quer a nível oclusal e funcional. A agenesia dos incisivos laterais superiores, requer um plano de tratamento realizado que construirá, juntamente com o paciente, um compromisso que deve ter em consideração muitos fatores, como, a idade do mesmo, requisitos estéticos, possibilidades biológicas, restrições funcionais, possibilidades financeiras e principalmente, as expectativas do paciente. O objetivo do presente trabalho é compreender esta anomalia e fazer um balanço das possíveis terapias oferecidas pela literatura, sendo elas a abertura de espaços ou o encerramento dos mesmos. De destacar, a importância do papel do médico dentista no diagnóstico e tratamento desta anomalia contribuindo assim para o bem-estar psíquico e físico dos pacientes garantindo que o tratamento ocorrerá com sucesso. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Agenesis is an anomaly frequently encountered by the dentist, where one or more dental pieces may be missing. This is a common anomaly in both primary dentition and permanent dentition. Numerous problems can occur with this anomaly, both at the aesthetic level and at the occlusal and functional level. The agenesis of the upper lateral incisors requires a treatment plan carried out that will build, together with the patient, a commitment that must take into account many factors, such as the patient's age, aesthetic requirements, biological possibilities, functional restrictions, financial possibilities and mainly patient's expectations. The objective of the present work is to understand this anomaly and take stock of the possible therapies offered by the literature, whether they are opening spaces or closing them. To highlight the importance of the dentist's role in the diagnosis and treatment of this anomaly, thus contributing to the psychological and physical well-being of patients, ensuring that the treatment will occur successfully. | pt_PT |
