Abstract(s)
Este estudo tem como objetivo compreender o contributo da brincadeira heurística e da exploração de materiais não estruturados para o desenvolvimento e aprendizagem da criança. Numa perspetiva metodológica, foi desenvolvido segundo o paradigma interpretativo da investigação qualitativa e baseado na investigação-ação. A recolha de informação foi feita através da observação participante, registo fotográfico, inquérito por questionário e análise documental. O estudo foi desenvolvido em contexto de creche e jardim de infância, onde foi adotada uma postura na base da reflexão critica do observado diariamente no decurso da investigação. Com as informações obtidas, foi possível compreender que a criança ao explorar materiais não estruturados atribui novos significados aos objetos, criando e imaginando brincadeiras. Quanto maior for a diversidade de materiais, maiores serão as oportunidades de as crianças explorarem e se envolverem em situações diversificadas, o que lhes permite desenvolver a imaginação, a criatividade, a concentração, entre muitas outras áreas do desenvolvimento da criança.
This study aims to understand the contribution of heuristic play and unstructured materials’ exploration to the child’s development and learning. From a methodological perspective, it was developed according to the interpretative paradigm of qualitative research and based on an action-research process. Data collection was carried out through participant observation, photographic recording, questionnary survey and document analysis. The study was developed in the context of daycare center and kindergarten, where a posture was adopted on the basis of critical reflection of what was observed daily in the course of the investigation. With the information obtained, it was possible to conclude that while exploring unstructured materials, the child attributesnew meanings to objects, by producing and imagining new plays. The greater the materials’ diversity, the greater the opportunities for children to explore and to engage in diverse situations, allowing them to expand their imagination, creativity and concentration, among many other areas of the child’s development.
