Abstract(s)
Increasingly, the Armed Forces are facing a huge reduction in personnel, but the number of missions to be carried out and the rigors of their execution remain practically the same, thus imposing an increasingly significant increase in the number of missions. value of human potential. Accordingly, the Armed Forces and subsequently the Portuguese Navy, should only focus their actions on their main activities. Therefore, it is intended to design and develop a study directed to the Supplying Organization of the Navy, the Supply Direction, thus delimiting the area of study in the uniform thematic, in which an analysis was made to the current model of clothing management of the Portuguese Navy. The work was organized in four chapters, chapter I is devoted to the theoretical framework, chapter II is focused on the development of the variables that influence the management of uniforms, chapter III presents and compares different models of management of uniform, being also proposed a model to be adopted, chapter IV is fervent to the analysis and presentation of the results, and finally, the conclusions and recommendations are presented at the conclusion. In order to improve the supply chain management of the Portuguese Navy in uniform, both the alternatives analyzed and the proposed model are intended to guarantee the principles of economy, effectiveness and efficiency of the human, financial and material resources in the Navy. The project approach will be based on the inductive method, with a vast research in order to obtain the maximum number of documents on this subject (mainly legislation, dispatches and official documents), also producing unstructured interviews, in order to support this study in the field of logistics in the area of supply.
