Atualmente em medicina dentária tem-se procurado cada vez mais tratamentos conservadores com um mínimo de desgaste da estrutura dentária, e na sequência dessa evolução apareceram os cimentos adesivos que permitem preparos minimamente invasivos com segurança e previsibilidade. Esses cimentos adesivos são compostos à base de monómeros que, através de retenções micro mecânicas na estrutura do dente e nas peças protéticas, conseguem reter peças protéticas sobre dentes, sem depender de formas de retenção nos preparos. Os cimentos adesivos podem ser classificados de acordo com o tipo de reação química de polimerização e também de acordo com a necessidade de preparo preciso das estruturas do dente para a adesão. Esta técnica bem documentada na literatura é uma técnica sensível nos vários passos da mesma que, quando negligenciados, podem levar ao insucesso, devendo o profissional estar atento à técnica proposta para cada tipo de material adesivo que utiliza e a sua adequação ao material restaurador.
Currently in dental medicine, more and more conservative treatments have been sought with minimal wear on the dental structure, and following this evolution comes adhesive adhesives that allow minimally invasive preparations with safety and predictability. These adhesive cements are composed based on monomers that, through micro-mechanical retentions in the tooth structure and protective parts, are able to retain prosthetic parts on teeth, without depending on forms of retention in the preparations. Adhesive cements can be classified according to the type of chemical polymerization reaction and also according to the need for precise preparation of the denture tooth structures for adhesion. This technique is well documented in the literature and a sensitive technique in its various steps, which if neglected can lead to failure, and the professional must be attentive to the proposed technique for each type of adhesive material he uses.
