| dc.description.abstract | Após a perda de dentes na região posterior da maxila, a remodelação óssea do rebordo alveolar acompanhada pela pneumatização do seio torna a massa óssea disponível muitas vezes insuficiente para permitir a colocação de implantes osseointegrados. Para lidar com isso, Tatum em 1977 e Summers em 1994 foram pioneiros na cirurgia de elevação do seio maxilar. Tatum através da parede lateral do seio maxilar e Summers utilizando a crista alveolar edêntula. Os últimos 30 anos mostraram que este ato clínico oferece uma solução confiável para a colocação de implantes nessas condições e ao longo destas 3 décadas novas abordagens foram sendo propostas. Estas incluem também o desenvolvimento de novos instrumentos e dispositivos inovadores. Nesta revisão narrativa, após uma recapitulação narrativa, após uma recapitulação anatômica do lugar, discutiremos as indicações e contraindicações desse procedimento cirúrgico. Em seguida, descreveremos cada etapa operatória da abordagem lateral e depois da abordagem crestal, passando pelos equipamentos e biomateriais à disposição do cirurgião-dentista. Passaremos então aos novos métodos que surgiram desde o início da elevação do seio. E, por fim, falaremos sobre possíveis alternativas para evitar a elevação do pavimento do seio. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | After loosing teeth in the posterior region of the maxilla, bone remodeling of the alveolar ridge accompanied by sinus pneumatization makes the available bone mass often insufficient to allow the placement of osseointegrated implants. To deal with this, Tatum in 1977 and Summers in 1994 pioneered sinus lift surgery. Tatum through the lateral Wall of the maxillary sinus and Summers using the edentulous alveolar ridge. The last 30 years have shown that thi clinical act offers a reliable solution for placing implants in these conditions and over these 3 decades new approches have been proposed. These also include the development of innovative new instruments and devices. In this narrative review, after an anatomical reviiew of the site, we will discuss the indications and contraindications for this surgical procedure. Next, we will describe each operative step of the lateral approach and then the crestal approach, going through the equipment and biomaterials available to the dental surgeon. We will then move on to the new methods that have emerged since the beginning of sinus lift. And finally, we will talk about possible alternatives to avoid sinus floor elevation. | pt_PT |
