| dc.description.abstract | Esta investigação centra-se no tema da tatuagem aplicada ao conceito de Arte Total, criado por Richard Wagner, compositor alemão. As tatuagens, ao longo dos anos, têm sido motivo de estudo em diversas áreas, desde antropologia até à psicologia, e, mais recentemente, mostraram- se ser de interesse artístico. Estas são uma prática ancestral que foi evoluindo chegando à tatuagem contemporânea que atualmente se conhece. O tema da tatuagem é falado num contexto histórico e, seguidamente, é cruzado com o conceito de Arte Total, uma experiência sensorial, imersiva e colaborativa que é interdisciplinar, ao mesmo tempo que explora o papel do tatuador. Ao fazer este enquadramento acaba-se por tocar em questões do foro da psicologia, que leva a um conceito secundário: a Autenticidade. Este conceito revela a perceção individual e social a um corpo tatuado, ao mesmo tempo que desenvolve uma relação entre a procura da autenticidade e a semelhança com práticas ritualísticas ancestrais, propondo a tatuagem como um ritual contemporâneo. Para esta investigação realizaram-se entrevistas a tatuadores de Lisboa que responderam a questões relacionadas com os conceitos analisados no texto. Por fim, este estudo é sustentado com um objeto visual, uma caixa que valoriza a interação entre o observador e a obra artística. Pretende-se com esta investigação e projeto promover uma sensibilização para prática da tatuagem, apresentando os tatuadores que mostram interesse na arte como artistas Totais, aumentar o reconhecimento artístico desta prática e talvez considerá-la uma disciplina de interesse e de estudo académico. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | This investigation focuses on the theme of tattooing applied to the concept of Total Art, created by Richard Wagner, German composer. Tattoos, over the years, have been the subject of study in various areas, from anthropology to psychology, and, more recently, they have proven to be of artistic interest. These are an ancestral practice that evolved into the contemporary tattoo that we know today. The theme of tattooing is discussed in a historical context, and it’s then crossed with the concept of Total Art, a sensorial, immersive and collaborative experience that is interdisciplinary, at the same time that it explores the role of the tattoo artist. With this concept in perspective, we end up revealing some psychological questions, which leads to the secondary concept: Authenticity. This concept reveals the individual and social perception of a tattooed body, at the same time as it develops a connection between the search for authenticity and the similarity with ancestral ritualistic practices, proposing tattooing as a contemporary ritual. For this investigation, interviews were carried out with tattoo artists in Lisbon who answered questions related to the concepts analysed in the research. To conclude the study, a visual object was projected as a support for the concept, a box that enhances the interaction between the observer and the artistic piece. The aim of this research and project is to promote awareness of the practice of tattooing, presenting tattoo artists who show an interest in the art as Total artists, increase the artistic recognition of this practice and perhaps consider it a discipline of interest and academic study. | pt_PT |
