Abstract(s)
A Internet of Things (IoT), que se refere a objetos ou coisas físicas que se
relacionam entre si através da Internet, tem-se tornado cada vez mais popular em
diversos aspetos do nosso dia-a-dia. No entanto, apesar dos benefícios que oferece
para a sociedade, questões como segurança e privacidade são desafios atuais para a
sua solidificação e aceitação por parte dos utilizadores. Assim, a presente investigação
pretende compreender a perceção do consumidor português sobre esta tecnologia
emergente, por meio do estudo das características pessoais do utilizador até à
capacidade de utilização dos mesmos. Deste modo, utilizou-se o modelo TAM para
testar a aceitação da tecnologia em causa, mediante a realização de um questionário
online a 102 inquiridos. Os resultados evidenciaram que tanto as competências do
utilizador na Internet e no uso da IoT, como as próprias características do utilizador
(confiança, prazer percebido e conhecimento) influenciam na intenção de uso da
tecnologia.
The Internet of Things (IoT), which refers to objects or things that relate to each other through the Internet is becoming increasingly popular in various aspects of our daily lives. However, despite the benefits it offers to society, issues such as security and privacy are current challenges for its solidification and acceptance by users. Thus, the present investigation aims to understand the perception of the Portuguese consumer about this emerging technology through the study of personal characteristics up to their ability to use them. In this way, use the TAM model to test the acceptance of the technology in question, using an online questionnaire with 102 surveys. The results showed that both user’s skills on the Internet and the use of IoT, as well as the user’s own characteristics (trust, Perceived pleasure and knowledge) influence the user in the intention of using the Technology.
