Abstract(s)
This dissertation examines the dynamics of social movements and risk behaviours in Portugal, with a particular focus on the role of Intelligence in maintaining Internal Security. This study employs a qualitative and exploratory approach, using semi-structured interviews and document analysis to investigate how Intelligence can be applied to forecast, prevent, and manage risk behaviours associated with social movements. The literature review encompasses theories of globalisation and the Risk Society, among others, placing the emergence of contemporary social movements in Portugal within a broader context. The findings are expected to provide an in-depth understanding of risk behaviours and the effectiveness of Intelligence strategies, contributing to the development of adaptable and effective Security Policies. The conclusions underscore the importance of Intelligence in shaping Internal Security strategies that promote a balanced Society, where Security, Social Cohesion, and Freedom coexist harmoniously.
