Abstract(s)
In the fashion industry there is a wide discussion about the need to change its support structures in order to include in the process a sense of environmental, economic and social responsibility, unfortunately academic teaching does not discuss sustainability effectively in the process of designing creative products. This paper presents a design methodology for fashion students based on the design methodology of Lobach (2001) and Camargo (2016) with the sustainability concepts defended by Fletcher and Grose (2011) and Braungart and McDonough (2013). By inserting design methodology through Gamification in the classroom, the designer plays the role of design manager and by acting like that the creative process acquires coherence with the values of sustainability. The purpose of the game is to teach about the circular economy focusing on a pair of Jeanswear. This allows the student to develop an holistic view of the product life cycle, as well as connect it to all spheres of a sustainable fashion methodology.
