Abstract(s)
Actualmente o stresse é identi"cado como um problema de saúde pública, económico e social, com repercussões
a nível do indivíduo, das organizações e dos governos (Mendes & Cruz, 2004). Para o Observatório Europeu de
Riscos (AESST, 2009, p.21) “do total de dias de trabalho perdidos, 50% a 60% estão relacionados com o stress”. O
relaxamento muscular progressivo (Edmund Jacobson) representa uma estratégia de auto-controlo das respostas
de stresse.
Pretendemos com este estudo analisar a e"cácia de um programa de gestão de stresse nos enfermeiros. Os resultados
obtidos permitiu-nos constatar uma diminuição do ritmo cardíaco e o aumento do grau de percepção de
relaxamento muscular, nos diferentes grupos, pelos participantes.
