Abstract(s)
mesmas.
The adoption of cloud computing implies the protection of sensitive data, compliance with privacy regulations, national legislation and compliance of the services offered, as well as data migration, so what policies have been adopted and what legislation does a municipality follow to safeguard data security? Cloud computing can be a solution for local authorities to store, process and access relevant information in their day-to-day work. The general aim of this work is to analyse the Information Systems and Information and Communication Technologies of a local authority, answering the following questions: What are the advantages and disadvantages of using Cloud Computing? Benefits of own datacentres? Can you use your own datacentres and benefit from some cloud services at the same time? Virtualisation is an increasingly important and crucial process, offering the local authority greater efficiency, flexibility and contributing to a greener approach to managing computing resources, in line with Green IT. It will therefore be crucial to know whether the local authority uses virtualisation technology in a microservices or monolithic architecture and what its security policy is, namely Zero Trust. The work will be carried out by collecting and processing information from the local authority, as well as analysing documents and possible studies. Qualitative research is an approach that focuses on a deep and contextual understanding of phenomena, allowing for a rich and detailed analysis. The analysis led to the conclusion that the municipality benefits financially in the long term from using its own datacentres and from using cloud computing for backups and security. Together with other municipalities, it could opt to use a community cloud, favouring the sharing of information, information security and backups between them.
