| dc.description.abstract | As mudanças sociais verificadas a nível global nos últimos trinta anos provocaram profundas alterações nas instituições consideradas mais conservadoras e tradicionais das sociedades ocidentais, que tiveram de se submeter a extensas reestruturações para se adaptarem às novas realidades, fazendo-o à custa, por vezes, de rupturas drásticas com o passado. A Instituição Militar em Portugal é o exemplo de um processo de mudança que, longe de estar completo, persegue a reestruturação, tendo no fim do Serviço Militar Obrigatório, pela abrangência e impacto que teve junto da sociedade civil, um dos seus aspectos mais significativos de transformação. O fim do Serviço Militar Obrigatório levantou na sociedade portuguesa algumas interrogações quanto à capacidade das Forças Armadas recrutarem voluntários suficientes para as suas necessidades. O objectivo deste trabalho de pesquisa é caracterizar a posição do jovem que procura a Força Aérea, relativamente ao incentivo formação profissional, tentando averiguar se este foi determinante para ter decidido cumprir serviço militar voluntário no Regime de Contrato e se a mesma correspondeu à suas expectativas iniciais. Abstract: The social changes which have taken place worldwide in the last 30 years have caused deep changes in the most conservative and traditional institutions of western societies, which had to undergo an extensive restructuring process to adapt to the new realities, doing it, sometimes, by breaking drastically with the past. The Military Institution in Portugal is the example of a transformation process which, far from being complete, continues with its restructuring purpose, being the end of the Compulsory Military Service one of its most significant transformation aspects, for the extent and impact it has had in the civilian society. The end of the Compulsory Military Service has raised some questions in the Portuguese society about the capacity of the Armed Forces to recruit enough volunteers to face the necessities. The objective of this research is to describe the position of the young people who have chosen the Air Force, trying to know not only if the profissional training incentive was decisive in their choice to do military service as volunteers and undercontract basis but also if it came up to their expections. | pt_PT |
