Sustentabilidade Ambiental na Cooperativa Agrícola da Tocha, CRL : Análise e Propostas de Melhoria

Abstract(s)
O presente relatório contempla um estudo de análise da eficiência ambiental da
Cooperativa Agrícola da Tocha, C.R.L, realizado no âmbito do estágio de mestrado em
Gestão Ambiental da Escola Superior Agrária do Instituto Politécnico de Coimbra. Teve
início com um levantamento dos resíduos produzidos pelos diversos setores da
Cooperativa, distinguindo-se a parte comercial da parte agrícola. Uma análise SWOT
permitiu identificar constrangimentos e lacunas, para as quais foram desenvolvidas
propostas de melhoria de sustentabilidade ambiental, bem como dadas sugestões para
a implementação de uma norma ambiental ISO 14001.
Durante o estudo, verificou-se que se produz uma quantidade significativa de
resíduos, principalmente de papel e plástico. Uma das propostas para melhorar a
sustentabilidade ambiental é a redução do consumo destes dois elementos, realizandose uma campanha de conscientização ambiental dirigida aos colaboradores da
Cooperativa, com o objetivo de incentivar o uso consciente e parcimonioso de papel e
plástico, oferendo-lhes algumas alternativas.
Foi realizada uma auditoria energética para avaliar o consumo de energia nas
instalações da Cooperativa. Os resultados indicaram que algumas medidas pouco
dispendiosas podem ser implementadas para reduzir o consumo de energia, como
instalar painéis solares na parte da loja agrícola e instalação de sensores de movimento
para controlar a iluminação em áreas com baixo fluxo de pessoas ou o uso de iluminação
de menor consumo, como a iluminação LED.
Também foram realizadas uma série de tarefas nos serviços administrativos, com
o objetivo de compreender melhor o funcionamento da empresa e identificar as
diversas áreas que podem ser melhoradas em termos de eficiência ambiental.
Em suma, este relatório apresenta uma análise detalhada dos resíduos produzidos
pela Cooperativa Agrícola da Tocha, C.R.L., bem como propostas de melhoria em termos
de sustentabilidade ambiental.

This report includes a study to analyse the environmental efficiency of the Cooperativa Agrícola da Tocha, C.R.L., carried out as part of the Master's degree in Environmental Management at the Escola Superior Agrária of the Polytechnic University of Coimbra. It began with a survey of the waste produced by the various sectors of the Cooperative, distinguishing the commercial part from the agricultural part. A swot analysis allowed the identification of constraints and gaps, for which proposals for improving environmental sustainability were developed, as well as suggestions for the implementation of an ISO 14001 environmental standard. During the study, it was found that a significant amount of waste is produced, mainly paper and plastic. One of the proposals to improve environmental sustainability is to reduce the consumption of these two elements, by carrying out an environmental awareness campaign aimed at the Cooperative's employees, with the aim of encouraging the conscious and parsimonious use of paper and plastic, offering them some alternatives. An energy audit was carried out to assess energy consumption in the Cooperative's facilities. The results indicated that some inexpensive measures can be implemented to reduce energy consumption, such as installing solar panels in the farm shop part and installing motion sensors to control lighting in areas with low flow of people or the use of lower consumption lighting such as LED lighting. A series of tasks were also carried out in the administrative services, with the aim of better understanding the functioning of the company and identifying the various areas that can be improved in terms of environmental efficiency. In summary, this report presents a detailed analysis of the waste produced by Cooperativa Agrícola da Tocha, C.R.L., as well as proposals for improvement in terms of environmental sustainability.
