| dc.description.abstract | Objetivos: Avaliar a qualidade dos artigos e tipos de lesões mais frequentes em crianças que sofreram abusos ou maus-tratos. Materiais e Métodos: Esta revisão foi conduzida de acordo com as diretrizes estabelecidas no PRISMA. Foi abordada a seguinte pergunta de pesquisa: Em crianças e adolescentes vítimas de maus-tratos, qual a prevalência de lesões orais e orofaciais? As bases de dados utilizadas foram: PubMed-Medline, Scopus, Scielo (Scientific Electronic Library Online), LILACS (Latin-American scientific literature in health sciences) e Scopus up to January 2024. Resultados: Inicialmente, identificou-se um total de 3672 artigos. Posteriormente através de uma análise do título e resumo, 63 artigos restaram para leitura integral. No final após todos os critérios de inclusão e exclusão aplicados, 56 artigos não cumpriam os critérios de elegibilidade, restando uma amostra final de 7 artigos para leitura integral. Conclusões: Existe uma lacuna significativa na literatura relativa às lesões orofaciais decorrentes de abuso infantil. A variabilidade nos relatos e a carência de detalhes específicos sobre essas lesões, juntamente com a subnotificação por parte dos profissionais de saúde, contribuem para a escassez de informações disponíveis. O aprimoramento do conhecimento e da conscientização sobre o abuso infantil pode influenciar positivamente a formulação de políticas públicas voltadas para a proteção das crianças e a responsabilização dos agressores. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Objectives: To evaluate the quality of the articles and the most frequent types of injuries in children who have suffered abuse or maltreatment. Materials and Methods: This review was conducted in accordance with the guidelines established in PRISMA. The following research question was addressed: What is the prevalence of oral and orofacial injuries in children and adolescents who have been victims of abuse? The databases used were: PubMed-Medline, Scopus, Scielo (Scientific Electronic Library Online), LILACS (Latin-American scientific literature in health sciences) and Scopus up to January 2024. Results: Initially, a total of 3672 articles were identified. After analyzing the title and abstract, 63 articles remained for full reading. In the end, after all the inclusion and exclusion criteria had been applied, 56 articles did not meet the eligibility criteria, leaving a final sample of 7 articles for full reading. Conclusion: There is a significant gap in the literature regarding orofacial injuries resulting from child abuse. Variability in reports and a lack of specific details about these injuries, together with under-reporting by health professionals, contribute to the scarcity of available information. Improving knowledge and awareness of child abuse can positively influence the formulation of public policies aimed at protecting children and holding perpetrators accountable. | pt_PT |
