Deformis in tenebris: o autorretrato surrealista e a noção de realidade

Abstract(s)
Desafiando os limites da percepção da realidade, o presente projecto vai ao encontro do paradoxo entre a relevância e credibilidade do papel que o surrealismo exerce sobre a nossa própria consciencialização da noção de realidade, e o papel de um simples meio de conduta da narrativa visual presente em, praticamente, todas as nossas influências visuais diárias. Propõe-se assim, colocar a matéria surrealista visual, transposta através de autorretratos fotográficos autorais que nos fazem questionar o sentido de “realidade”, a desempenhar, neste caso, o papel que a figura humana possui no que toca a narrativa visual.
Expõe-se o seguinte projecto: se a figura humana é o principal meio condutor visual, cativando o espectador através da sua familiaridade, e se a figura surrealista é uma contestação à realidade, pode esta substituir o papel da figura humana, mantendo a mesma credibilidade, sendo isto representado numa série de autorretratos que põe em causa a veracidade da figura retratada?
Defying the limits of reality’s perception, the present project was built along with the paradox between the relevance and credibility that the surrealism’s role exerts in our own awareness of the notion of reality, and the role of the simplest conductive mean in the visual narrative that is, practically, present in our own entire daily visual influences. It is by this purposed, to place the visual surrealist matter, transposed through authorial self-portrayed photographies that make us question the meaning of “reality”, fulfilling the role of the simplest visual connotation that the plenary everyday basis reaches, in this case, the role the human figure has when it comes to visual narrative. It’s then exposed the following project: if the human figure is the leading visual conductive mean, captivating the spectator through its familiarity, and if the surrealist figure is an impugnment to reality, can it replace the role of the human figure, maintaining the same credibility, by being represented as a series of self-portraits that defy the veracity of the portrayed figure?
