Abstract(s)
desportivos no COMETLIS.
Major sports events in Portugal are very important in people's daily lives. Although they bring great joy to their fans, they are also the scene of countless cases of violence. The risks and threats inherent in these events make the police's job more difficult when it comes to keeping it safe. In this sense, the technological advances that have taken place over the last few decades have already countless potentialities to help the work of the police. The APPRAISE project is one of the most recent examples of how technological tools can contribute to police action. It is with this idea in mind that this research was carried out, using a qualitative approach to understand what potential APPRAISE's technological tools could have in the context of major sporting events in COMETLIS. This research has shown that these new technologies should be an integral part of policing models, since they have numerous potentialities, especially in terms of facilitating the identification of suspects, contributing to decision-making and access to more information, which is the basis for all police action and decision-making.
