Abstract(s)
Este estudo explora as trajetórias de vida de jovens com medida tutelar educativa de
internamento em Centro Educativo, analisando a intervenção do Sistema de Promoção e
Proteção e as razões pelas quais esta não conseguiu prevenir e mitigar o desenvolvimento de
comportamentos delinquentes mais graves. Os resultados indicam que muitos destes jovens
foram sujeitos a múltiplas intervenções anteriores, revelando a persistência de fatores de risco
e a complexidade das suas histórias de vida. Verificou-se que, em muitos casos, os fatores de
risco acumulados eram tão significativos que a medida tutelar educativa de internamento se
tornou a única opção possível. A pesquisa identificou ainda que, apesar de várias tentativas de
intervenção, problemas como a desestruturação familiar, a exposição a ambientes de violência
e o insucesso escolar permanecem constantes e contribuem para a escalada de comportamentos
delinquentes. Além disso, a falta de recursos adequados e a necessidade de uma abordagem
mais individualizada e focada no jovem surgem como fatores críticos para a eficácia das
medidas aplicadas. Assim, recomenda-se uma reflexão aprofundada sobre as políticas de
intervenção existentes, de modo a implementar estratégias mais preventivas e abrangentes, que
proporcionem um acompanhamento mais contínuo e integrado, capazes de responder às
necessidades específicas dos jovens e dos seus problemas.
This study explores the life trajectories of youth with educational custodial measures in Educational Centers, analyzing the intervention of the Child Protective System and the reasons why it failed to prevent and mitigate the development of more severe delinquent behaviors. The results show that many of these youths had already been subject to multiple interventions, highlighting the persistence of risk factors and the complexity of their life stories. In many cases, the accumulated risk factors were so significant that custodial educational measures became the only viable option. The research also identified that, despite various intervention attempts, issues such as family disruption, exposure to violent environments, and lack of school failure persist and contribute to the escalation of delinquent behaviors. Furthermore, the lack of adequate resources and the need for a more individualized and youth-focused approach are critical factors affecting the effectiveness of the measures applied. Therefore, it is recommended to deeply reflect on current intervention policies and implement more preventive and comprehensive strategies that address the specific needs of these youths and their challenges.
