Abstract(s)
burocratizadas do serviço social.
The new social and human needs resulting from the current socio-demographic situation, marked by the phenomenon of an ageing population, are exacerbating the vulnerability and dependency of the population, marked by multiple and complex comorbidities. This situation calls for the implementation of urgent socio-political measures, as well as professional practices that involve multidisciplinary work, with the aim of providing more humanised care that guarantees human rights and social cohesion. This research project aims to reflect on the contributions of the Social Worker's intervention in the ECCI - by analysing the indicators for drawing up the referral process report and monitoring patient admission; and to understand how the rights advocated by the RNCCI are guaranteed in the provision of healthcare and psychosocial support. To analyse the work of the Social Worker in the ECCI typology, the case study method was used, with the main data collection technique being interviews with ECCI/ECL professionals and patients/carers from a RNCCI organisation in a municipality in the north of the country. Through a categorical analysis of the data collected, the results made it possible to understand the importance of the place occupied by the Social Service in the field of health, exerting its influence directly and positively in promoting the quality of care and social advocacy. The challenges highlighted are the bureaucratised webs of social work. This reality calls for greater reflexivity about practice, emphasising the social worker's ability to find strategies that are conducive to the singularities of each person, advocating the importance of a clinical, dynamic and holistic approach.
