Geopolítica da alemanha na primeira guerra mundial: o caso do sudoeste africano
This article tries to demonstrate in which consisted the Geopolitics of Germany in World War I in the African space, focusing mainly on the Deutsch-Südwestafrika (now Namibia) and Angola, and on the German interest and its attempt for annexing the South of Angola to Deutsch-Südwestafrika, that would culminate in Naulila Battle (1914). It also seeks to demonstrate the importance of the German project of Mittelafrika as one of the lines of action of Weltpolitik adopted by Germany in 1890 by Wilhelm II, and with direct impact on the German interest in Angola and the Portuguese colonial space in Africa. The project of Mittelafrika and the interest in Angola result of the search for Lebensraum in Africa, with an economical and cultural orientation that is still today characteristics of the German Foreign Policy.
