Abstract(s)
The consumption of medical drugs itās common and transversal. With the purpose of improving the life quality, a large number of people daily consumes some sort of medication. However, the information contained in lots of drugs packages, does not allow either the easy identification nor the function of the drug contained. This problem is more evident for groups that, due to their clinical condition, education level or simply the age, have greater difficulty in distinguishing, such as colorblind, illiterate or elderly. A good identification and comprehension of the information in the packages itās crucial. Then, it is desired that these packages have and effective and direct form of communication, allowing those whom use them, an easy and immediate comprehension. The present investigation, based on quantitative and qualitative methodologies, proposes a creation of a duly sustained and proven system, either with the existing theory or the analysis of questionnaires and tests in the target audience developed for the purpose, thus guaranteeing its concept and form of construction. The Id.Med code, a system of drugs identification inclusive to the entire population, is a code of symbols placed on drug packaging, that through three identifying elements - pictograms, acronyms and colors - it is easily understood by its users.
