Abstract(s)
The purpose of this study was to study the technological, cultural, political, and economic developments that with social change have transformed the form of social relations and brought new structures and conceptualizations to social movements. The study, theoretical in nature, focused on the conversion of postmodern social movements into inorganic ones and defined them as a non-led structure without political ideology, organized by new communication technologies that support horizontal communication and dissemination to a global space associated with a collective identity. He concluded that the intentional use of the digital medium as an atomizer of social networks, fragmentation of public debate, and social polarization, is empowering radical extremism, which requires high requirements for preparedness and response and coordination in the effective use of resources and capabilities of the security system, but, above all, anticipate the response to future technological development in terms of the digital networks, such as the Internet of things or artificial intelligence.
