Abstract(s)
Machine safety requirements have been improved over time, following the increasingly rapid advancement of technology. In the past, machine protections ended up interfering with the production process, causing them to be removed regularly. Currently, technology is already able to integrate protections into the production process, making them essential for the development of work and thus promoting a safety culture. The main objective of this work is to carry out a risk analysis and assessment, through safety checks on mechanical sheet metal cutting machines in a training/school context versus the workplace, with subsequent presentation of risk reduction proposals for cutting machines sheet metal cutting at the IPS Mechanical Workshop. For this purpose, several methodologies were applied, namely documentary and legislative analysis, direct observation techniques, work equipment checklists, informal interviews and the application of risk assessment. As a result of the work carried out, it was possible to identify existing risks and propose measures to improve the safety of machines in the IPS workshop in favor of an accident prevention culture.
