Abstract(s)
The social changes that have occurred gradually have favored the inclusion of peoplewith disabilities in various areas: work, school and social, but society maintains itsprejudices towards people with Down Syndrome by positioning them in a displacedgroup, causing their differences weigh more than their capabilities. A priori, althoughsociety maintains a politically correct discourse towards people with disabilities, itrecognizes that difference is an element of discrimination. However, although there areconscious discourses of the value of "being different" and of the enrichment that diversitycan become today, the prejudices that are projected from different social areas do notcoincide with the reality they live. In this "dialogue", and because the image plays a keyrole today, we consider the photo-graphy an effective instrument to make an approachto the daily reality of young people with Down Syndrome.
