Abstract(s)
gatos.
Squamous cell carcinomas represent a significant proportion of feline neoplasms, especially of the skin, particularly in cats with light-color coats, which are more sensitive to sunlight. Diagnosis is based on macroscopic observation of the lesions and cytological or histopathological analysis of biopsied tissues. In most cases, the lesions have been present for several weeks or months, and are diagnosed at an advanced stage, which makes treatment more complex. Electrochemotherapy is a technique that combines the principle of electroporation of cell membranes with the administration of chemotherapy, either intravenously or intratumorally, to optimize the destruction of neoplastic cells, and which has proven to be an effective therapeutic modality in the treatment of this disease. The aim of this study was to analyze the existing scientific literature to determine the efficacy and safety of electrochemotherapeutic treatment in cutaneous squamous cell carcinomas in cats.
