Abstract(s)
Oral rehabilitation with dental implantsis a predictable therapeutic solution that is often limited by bone loss resulting from post-extraction bone resorption. To overcome these deficiencies, alveolar bone regeneration techniques play a fundamental role, enabling the recovery of adequate bone volume for implant placement. Ridge augmentation, both in vertical and horizontal dimensions, has been extensively studied. Several studies have shown that vertical augmentation procedures can achieve consistente results, while others highlight the predictability of guided bone regeneration in horizontal augmentation. In the context of bone grafts, studies have compared autologus and allogeneic grafts, showing that both are effective in the treatment of alveolar defects, but with specific characteristics that influence their clinical selection. On the other hand, maxillary sinus lift remains an essential technique for regeneration in the posterior regions of the upper jaw. Multiple studies have confirmed the effectiveness and safety of the transcrestal sinus lift technique in cases of serve bone resorption. This narrative review aims to analyze and compare diferente regenerative approaches, including bone grafts and surgical techniques, based on the available evidence, in order to determine the best strategry for creatong suitable bone beds prior to dental implant placement.
