Abstract(s)
The present study focused on the management of occupational health and safety in construction projects developed in West Africa, and its main objective was to analyse it in order to improve its performance. As specific objectives were defined to characterize vs analyse a case study within the scope of the study project and to elaborate an intervention plan constituted by a set of actions / guidelines of management OHS in projects developed in Africa. In methodological terms, a qualitative analysis was used utilizing the case study (analysis of a construction project developed by the Seth organization in Guinea Conakry). The SWOT was used to analyse the case study and serve as a guideline for the preparation of the intervention plan with guidelines that allow to assist in the performance of the area of OSH management. It was concluded that it is possible to mention that OHS management of projects is complex, has particularities in terms of the African context in which projects can be developed, but that there are elements such as: OHS leadership, adequate and dedicated resources, planning, tools and practices, control and communication - which should form an integral part of any OHS management system that aims at "good" performance in the area.
