| dc.description.abstract | O presente Relatório de Estágio, intitulado “Os Maus Tratos Contra Crianças no Contexto Familiar: o retrato de um CAFAP na Área Metropolitana do Porto” foi realizado no âmbito do Mestrado em Intervenção Social na Infância e Juventude em Risco de Exclusão Social, tendo como objetivo analisar e compreender a presença e dimensão da problemática dos maus tratos no contexto de um Centro de Apoio Familiar e Aconselhamento Parental (CAFAP). O estágio decorreu entre janeiro e maio de 2024 num CAFAP da Área Metropolitana do Porto. Para alcançar os objetivos e compreender os casos de maus tratos, foram realizadas diversas atividades de intervenção em conjunto com a equipa técnica. Pretendeu-se compreender como um CAFAP intervém com crianças e famílias, o seu modo de atuação e modalidades de intervenção, como o Ponto de Encontro Familiar, Reunificação Familiar e Preservação Familiar. Quanto à metodologia, recorreram-se a técnicas como análise documental, observação participante e entrevistas à equipa técnica, com o intuito de perceber como atuam perante casos de maus tratos e como se articulam com outras entidades para garantir melhor proteção às crianças. Por fim, observou-se a intergeracionalidade dos maus tratos no contexto familiar: crianças que crescem num ambiente violento tendem a reproduzir os comportamentos vivenciados, perpetuando o ciclo. | dc.description.abstract | Os Maus Tratos Contra Crianças no Contexto Familiar Abstract This internship report, entitled “Child Abuse in the Family Context: The Portrait of a CAFAP in the Metropolitan Area of Porto”, was carried out within the framework of the Master's Degree in Social Intervention in Childhood and Youth at Risk of Social Exclusion. Its main objective is to analyze and understand the presence and scope of the issue of child abuse within the context of a Family Support and Parental Counseling Center (CAFAP). The internship took place between January and May 2024 in a CAFAP located in the Porto Metropolitan Area. To achieve the objectives and understand the presence of abuse cases, various intervention activities were carried out in collaboration with the technical team. The aim was to understand how a CAFAP works with children and families, its methods of operation, and its intervention modalities, such as the Family Meeting Point, Family Reunification, and Family Preservation. As for the methodology, techniques such as document analysis, participant observation, and interviews with the technical team were used to understand how they respond to cases of child abuse and how they collaborate with other entities to ensure better protection for children. Finally, the intergenerational nature of abuse in the family context was observed: children who grow up in violent environments are more likely to reproduce the destructive behaviors they experienced, perpetuating the cycle.
