No caso
In human resource management, the selection process is a significant factor in the ability to generate a competitive advantage through people. This fact becomes even more important when selecting cadets for the military academies, because, in the long run, it will shape the quality of the officer corps. For military pilots, the high demands and risks inherent to the flying activity, oblige the selection process to ensure the valorization of those who have a set of skills, virtues and values, that present the best probability to adapt to the function and to the organization. Therefore, it becomes fundamental to evaluate, on a recurrent basis, if the selected candidates perform at the expected levels. Thus, this research aims to study the predictive validity of the selection process. This study uses deductive reasoning, a case study research design, and a quantitative research strategy. The findings revealed that the distance between the application of the tests and the measurement of the criteria restricted the statistical significance of the correlation, during the Pilot Training Phase. In the Flight Selection Screening and Extracurricular Flight Activity phases, the tests showed good predictive validity, as indicators of performance.
