A economia de partilha é um sistema socioeconómico que se baseia no consumo de bens
e serviços com foco na partilha, sendo um fenómeno que registou um rápido crescimento e tem
já uma posição claramente definida no setor do alojamento turístico. Ao mesmo tempo, Portugal
tem registado um aumento indiscutível de Alojamentos Locais registados, impulsionado, entre
outros, por este movimento socioeconómico.
A presente investigação procura compreender quais as motivações do consumidor para
participar nesta nova forma de mercado. É utilizado o caso Airbnb, uma plataforma para
estadias de curta duração, pioneira na economia de partilha, no contexto português como
exemplo.
São abordados os fatores que determinam o comportamento do consumidor,
nomeadamente os fatores culturais, sociais, pessoais e psicológicos; e estudadas as várias
motivações, entre elas, a localização, o preço, a sustentabilidade económica, o conforto e
comodidades, a autenticidade, interação social, a novidade, o prazer, a sustentabilidade
ambiental, a reputação e o Ethos do consumo colaborativo.
Como principais motivações foram determinadas o preço, localização, comodidades,
autenticidade, motivação social e interação, novidade e prazer e sustentabilidade económica.
The sharing economy is a socio-economic system that is based on the consumption of goods and services focused on the sharing. It is a phenomenon that has experienced a rapid growth and has already a strong position in the tourist accommodation sector. At the same time, Portugal has registered an undeniable increase in registered local lodgings (Alojamento Local), driven, among others, by this socio-economic movement. This study leads to an understanding of the consumer’s motivations to participate in this new market model. Airbnb, a platform for short stays, a pioneer in the sharing economy, in the Portuguese context is used as an example. The factors that determine consumer behavior, namely cultural, social, personal and psychological factors, are discussed as well as motivations such as location, price, economic sustainability, comfort and amenities, authenticity, social interaction, novelty, pleasure, environmental sustainability, reputation and ethos of collaborative consumption. As the main motivations where determined the price, location, amenities, authenticity, social motivation and interaction, novelty and pleasure and economic sustainability.
