perdão e o zelo/cuidado as dimensões menos presentes.
institucional.
Human virtues can be practiced in both personal and organizational contexts. Demonstrating human virtues in an organizational context, through virtuous practices, has several advantages for the organizational environment and interpersonal relationships. Virtue-based interpersonal relationships (e.g., respect, gratitude, integrity) are meaningful and promote the buffering, amplifying, and heliotropic effects associated with organizational virtuosity. This study aims to assess and understand the levels, experiences, causes, and advantages of virtuous practices among employees, from the perspective of employees at a gerontological institution in Portugal. To address this issue, a case study was used, using mixed-method research, first quantitative and then qualitative. The results reveal that meaning and compassionate support are the two most prevalent dimensions of virtuous practices, with forgiveness and zeal/care being the least prevalent dimensions. The most frequently cited motives for these practices are attributed to identity, conscientiousness, relational closeness, and enjoyment of work. The presence of virtuous practices in the gerontological institution is evident, which brings advantages to daily work, users and institutional image.
