Abstract(s)
A idade
A Polícia
Contudo, a
delinquência juvenil contemporânea apresenta novas caraterísticas, colocando-se novos
desafios.
Juvenile delinquency is a highly complex phenomenon which has brought alarming consequences for society, particularly for the security sector. The age of those involved, the place where it is committed and the characteristics of the delinquency assumes a special perversity, bringing social consequences, namely the feeling of (in)security. This is a multi causal phenomenon and many factors contribute to its development, requiring an integrated and multidisciplinary response from the institutions with responsibilities in this area. The Public Security Police is one of them, having developed actions aimed at its prevention and repression, mainly through the Safe School Programme. However, contemporary juvenile delinquency presents new characteristics, posing new challenges. In this way, this research makes an approach on the emergence of juvenile delinquency, going on to characterize the phenomenon in the national present time, ending by clarifying the response resources that the PSP has at its disposal, relying on the contribution of specialists, through interviews with three police officers with professional experience in this area.
