A presente dissertação teve como objetivo desenvolver e apresentar propostas de itinerários de turismo solidário para o bairro da Mouraria em Lisboa, procurando estudar formas de turismo em forte crescimento no contexto de um bairro multifacetado e multicultural. Os itinerários turísticos constituem formas privilegiadas de organização da oferta turística e no contexto da sustentabilidade local podem ser organizados e implementados numa lógica de desenvolvimento comunitário, respondendo à crescente procura de experiências autênticas por parte dos turistas, onde a responsabilidade social e a participação ativa nos modos de vida das comunidades locais constituiu atualmente um dos eixos centrais da experiência turística. Por outro lado podem constituir um importante mecanismo de reforço da sustentabilidade local e do desenvolvimento comunitário. Trata-se de um estudo de caso pelo que foi desenvolvido um aprofundado estudo sobre o bairro e diversas explorações no terreno. O trabalho teve como enquadramento um estudo da evolução do turismo, da experiência turística, das novas formas de turismo, e das metodologias de criação de itinerários, circuitos e rotas turísticas, por forma a problematizar os resultados empíricos e a orientar toda a pesquisa efetuada. Foram desenvolvidas diferentes propostas de itinerários de turismo solidários, envolvendo diferentes áreas de intervenção e de interesse, diferentes entidades sociais e culturais e diferentes períodos de duração, por forma a permitir o maior leque de possibilidades quer para o turista, quer para o bairro e sua comunidade.
This dissertation aimed to develop and submit proposals of solidarity tourism itineraries to Mouraria quarter in Lisbon, seeking to study forms of tourism in strong growth in the context of a multifaceted and multicultural neighborhood. Tourist routes are privileged forms of the tourism offer organization and, in the context of local sustainability, can be organized and implemented in a logic of community development, responding to the growing demand for authentic experiences by tourists, where the social responsibility and active participation in the ways of life of the local communities is currently one of the central axes of tourist experience. On the other hand, they can be an important reinforcement mechanism of the local sustainability and community development. This is a case study and therefore it was the result of a deep study of this neighborhood and several explorations on the ground. The dissertation had as a framework a study of tourism development, of tourism experience, of new forms of tourism, and of methodologies of creating itineraries, tours and tourist routes, in order to discuss the empirical results and to guide all the research carried out. Different proposals for solidarity tourism itineraries were developed. They involved many areas of intervention and interest, social and cultural organizations, periods of time, in order to enable the widest range of possibilities, both for the turist and for the neighborhood and its community.
