O presente relatório resulta da realização de um estágio curricular de seis meses na Agência BAR Ogilvy entre 2018 e 2019, tendo decorrido no âmbito do Curso de Mestrado de Design e Publicidade.
Este relatório enquadra-se na área científica do Design e surge em resposta ao tema “A Carreira de um Designer Gráfico em Regime Freelancer e de Agência” e ao trabalho desenvolvido durante o estágio no departamento criativo.
O objetivo do estágio foi consolidar a experiência da candidata como designer freelancer, bem como o conhecimento adquirido no Mestrado de Design e Publicidade, de modo a ter uma noção prática do que implica trabalhar como designer dentro de uma agência. Pretende-se com este estudo cruzar e comparar a metodologia e os processos de trabalho de um designer freelancer com as dinâmicas da agência.
A recolha de informação pertinente para o estudo resulta de entrevistas individuais, da observação participante e de recolha literária, bem como de publicações e estudos científicos.
A presente investigação foca-se num problema central testado através de duas hipóteses. As entrevistas qualitativas, que irão determinar a conclusão da investigação, são analisadas entre hipóteses válidas ou inválidas.
The following report is the result of a six-month internship at the BAR Ogilvy Agency between 2018 and 2019, under the scope of a Master’s Course of Design and Advertising. This report fits into the scientific area of the Design and arises in response to the theme “A Graphical Designer career as a freelancer and as an agency Designer” and the work done during the internship in the creative department. The aim of the internship was to consolidate the trainee experience as a freelance designer, as well as the knowledge increased in the Master’s Course of Design and Advertising, in order to have a practical notion of what implies to work as a designer inside an agency. This study intends to cross and to compare the methodology and work processes of a freelancer designer with the dynamics of the agency. The collection of relevant information for the study results from individual interviews, participant observation, literary collection, as well as from scientific publications and studies. This research focuses on a central problem tested through two hypotheses. The qualitative interviews, that will determine the conclusion of the investigation are analyzed between valid or invalid hypotheses.
