O Insucesso escolar é um fenómeno muito preocupante, visto que já foram feitos vários estudos que procuram compreender a origem e a causa deste fenómeno que mexe muito com as estruturas dos sistemas educacionais desde o Ensino Básico ao Superior.
Ciente que, o Insucesso não tem uma única definição dentro da comunidade dos investigadores e pedagogos, posto isso, é um fenómeno que afeta muito no ensino/aprendizagem dos alunos, sendo o objetivo principal é encontrar as medidas para mitigar o fenómeno em estudo.
O presente trabalho de investigação teve como objetivo caracterizar e analisar o fenómeno do Insucesso Escolar e o papel da Administração Local na mitigação deste fenómeno educativo. Para a elaboração e a construção do presente trabalho teve início nas pesquisas documentais para melhor aprimorar ideias divergentes de vários investigadores da área, na mesma linha de pesquisa foram aplicadas as entrevistas ao Diretor da Escola Secundária Luciano Garcia, a Diretora Nacional de Educação em Cabo Verde e ao Autarca do Concelho de São Lourenço dos Órgãos, posto isso, foram aplicados os inquéritos por questionários aos alunos, isto é, o inquérito é de caracter quantitativo e qualitativo, com o intuito de clarificar as debilidades do fenómeno insucesso escolar face ao sistema de educação.
A análise dos resultados demonstra que o fenómeno “Insucesso Escolar ” tem sido constante, por sua vez, tanto a Escola como a Administração Local têm traçados planos para mitigar este fenómeno, visto que, o ideal é a introdução das campanhas de sensibilização e as suas intervenções desde a pré-escolar, que é a fase inicial de uma criança no sistema educacional e visa prepará-los de modo que tenham poucas dificuldades no futuro escolar.
Academic failure is a highly concerning phenomenon in the field of education. In fact, several studies have already been carried out seeking to understand the origin and causes of such a problem, which affects the structures of education systems from basic to higher education. Academic failure does not have a unified definition within the community of researchers and pedagogues. Hence, given that this is a phenomenon that greatly affects the teaching/learning process, the main objective of this study was to find measures to mitigate the phenomenon under study. This research aimed at characterizing and analyzing the phenomenon of school failure and the role of local administration in mitigating this educational phenomenon. To carry out this investigation, the research started with literature review to better improve the understanding of divergent ideas of several researchers in the area. In the same line of research, interviews involving the Director of the Secondary School Luciano Garcia, the National Director of Education in Cabo Verde and the Mayor of the Municipality of São Lourenco dos Órgãos were conducted. Hereafter, questionnaires were distributed to students. The survey was a mixed-method design created in order to clarify the weaknesses of the phenomenon of school failure in the face of the education system in Cabo Verde. The results demonstrate that the phenomenon of academic failure is real. In turn, both the school and the local administration have drawn up plans to mitigate the non-propagation of such an issue since the ideal is the introduction of awareness campaigns and their interventions from pre-school. The plan to target pre-school was developed because pre-school is the initial stage of a child in the education system, and it aims to prepare them so that they have few difficulties in their academic life in the future.
