Abstract(s)
O presente estudo debruça-se sobre o fenĂłmeno da violĂȘncia contra polĂcias, que se constitui nĂŁo apenas como uma agressĂŁo dirigida contra uma pessoa, mas como uma ofensa a uma autoridade do Estado, razĂŁo pela qual se deverĂĄ compreender as suas dimensĂ”es para uma atuação proativa na sua prevenção.
O objetivo da investigação prende-se com anĂĄlise e caracterização das agressĂ”es cometidas contra polĂcias, no que diz respeito ao contexto em que ocorreram, caracterĂsticas dos intervenientes, sazonalidade, localização geogrĂĄfica, tipo de serviço que estava a ser desempenhado, modus operandi, consequĂȘncias resultantes e apoios prestados pela instituição.
Foi realizado um estudo exploratĂłrio, de carĂĄcter descritivo e correlacional, tendo em conta dados primĂĄrios, obtidos da aplicação de questionĂĄrio dirigido ao efetivo policial pertencente ao Comando Metropolitano de Lisboa no ano de 2016, vĂtimas de episĂłdios de agressĂ”es por parte de cidadĂŁos, e de dados secundĂĄrios, constantes numa base de dados facultada pelo COMETLIS com os elementos estatĂsticos da totalidade de agressĂ”es ocorridas, aferindo se existem relaçÔes significativas entre as variĂĄveis.
Concluiu-se que Ă© no serviço operacional de patrulhamento que os polĂcias estĂŁo mais dispostos a sofrerem agressĂ”es, sendo estas maioritariamente perpetradas com recurso a força fĂsica e das quais resultaram ferimentos ligeiros.
This study concerns violence against police officers, which constitutes not only an assault upon a person, but also an offence against an authority of the state. It aims to better understand the phenomenon in order find a more proactive approach leading to its prevention. The studyÂŽs objective is to analyse and describe the types of violence against police officers, concerning its context, characteristics of the offenders, seasonality, location, type of policing performed, modus operandi, itâs consequences and the support given by the institution. An exploratory study was made, using both qualitative and quantitative methods. Primary data was obtained through questionnaires given to the officers of the Metropolitan Police Command of Lisbon in the year of 2016, all of whom had been victims of assaults. Secondary data was obtained from a data base, provided by COMETLIS, which showed all statistical information regarding assaults on police officers, in order to find if there are any significant relations between the variables. It was concluded that it is on patrol that police officers are most likely to suffer these assaults, which are mostly perpetrated using physical force and from which result minor injuries.
