A música como intervenção no cuidado perioperatório : perceção da pessoa submetida a anestesia geral

Resumo(s)
Este relatório de estágio insere-se no âmbito do Mestrado em Enfermagem Médico-Cirúrgica, na área de Enfermagem à Pessoa em Situação Perioperatória, e apresenta uma análise crítica das experiências e aprendizagens desenvolvidas em contexto perioperatório, articuladas com os referenciais teóricos e com a prática baseada na evidência.
O estágio decorreu em Bloco Operatório/Cirurgia de Ambulatório e integrou intervenções nas áreas de anestesia, circulação, instrumentação, cuidados pós-anestésicos e consultas perioperatórias, com enfoque na segurança, conforto, continuidade de cuidados e humanização. No âmbito das consultas perioperatórias, foi ainda desenvolvido um projeto de intervenção na consulta pré-operatória de enfermagem, orientado para a melhoria da preparação e capacitação da pessoa e família/pessoa significativa ao longo do percurso cirúrgico.
Paralelamente, foi desenvolvido um projeto de investigação sobre “A música como intervenção no cuidado perioperatório: perceção da pessoa submetida a anestesia geral”, com o objetivo de analisar a perceção da pessoa relativamente à utilização da música enquanto intervenção não farmacológica. De forma geral, a música foi percecionada como uma estratégia simples e bem aceite, promovendo conforto e bem-estar emocional e contribuindo para reduzir os níveis de ansiedade e para uma recordação mais positiva da experiência cirúrgica.
O percurso realizado favoreceu o desenvolvimento de competências avançadas na identificação e gestão do risco, comunicação em equipa, tomada de decisão fundamentada e implementação de intervenções centradas na pessoa, integrando também competências de mestre como pensamento crítico, aprendizagem autónoma e mobilização de evidência e investigação na prática.
Conclui-se que a integração entre prática clínica, intervenção e investigação reforça o papel do enfermeiro especialista na produção e aplicação de conhecimento, promovendo cuidados perioperatórios mais seguros, humanizados e sustentados na evidência.
This internship report is part of the Master’s Degree in Medical-Surgical Nursing, in the field of Nursing Care for the Person in the Perioperative Setting and presents a critical analysis of the experiences and learning developed in the perioperative context, articulated with theoretical frameworks and evidence-based practice. The placement took place in the operating theatre/day surgery setting and included interventions in the areas of anesthesia, circulating nursing, instrumentation, post-anesthesia care, and perioperative consultations, with a focus on safety, comfort, continuity of care, and humanization. Within perioperative consultations, an intervention project was also implemented in the preoperative nursing consultation, aimed at improving patient and family/significant person preparation and empowerment throughout the surgical pathway. In parallel, a research project entitled “Music as an intervention in perioperative care: the perception of the person undergoing general anesthesia” was conducted, with the aim of analyzing the person’s perception of music as a non-pharmacological intervention. Overall, music was perceived as a simple and well-accepted strategy, promoting comfort and emotional well-being, helping to reduce anxiety levels, and contributing to a more positive recollection of surgical experience. This pathway supported the development of advanced competencies in risk identification and management, team communication, evidence-informed decision-making, and the implementation of person-centered interventions, while also strengthening master’s-level competencies in critical thinking, autonomous learning, and the integration of evidence and research into practice. It is concluded that integrating clinical practice, intervention, and research strengthens the role of the specialist nurse in generating and applying knowledge, promoting safer, more humanized, and evidence-based perioperative care.
