Abstract(s)
ano do 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico.
Português e Estudo do Meio.
This study arises within the scope of the curricular unit of Internship IV and results from the implementation of a research project in a class of the 4th year of the 1st Cycle of Basic Education. The research question-problem is "What are the potentialities of using the Writing Workshop to develop writing skills in students?", aiming to understand how the development of a Writing Workshop (Jolibert (coord.), 1994) in a 4th grade class contributes to enhancing students' writing skills and promoting the development of knowledge about textual genres. The pedagogical intervention was the result of a class writing project, in conjunction with a study visit carried out within the scope of the Environmental Studies curricular component. From this, the realisation of a class newspaper was proposed, focusing on different textual genres: reportage, news and opinion chronicle. This is a qualitative research and, in particular, a research on practice, with data collection through unstructured direct observation and documentary research, and with data analysis based on content analysis and textual analysis. The results obtained from the research project showed an evolution of the students' writing skills, since the data of the final textual productions improved compared to the initial textual productions, and of the knowledge related to textual genres. The project also allowed to verify the possibility of articulating two curricular components: Portuguese and Environmental Studies.
