Abstract(s)
Currently, the issues surrounding crime and insecurity seem to be the top priorities of any democratic rule of law in terms of scrutiny and the search for better solutions where many of the resources are directed, as they greatly influence the life and well-being of the population and all those who seek us. Nowadays, the city is where the majority of the population chooses to live in order to satisfy their most varied needs. It is in the urban environment where the main services are concentrated and, consecutively, it draws a vast group of people from the most varied origins and for the most varied purposes. Therefore, there is a greater chance for offenses to be perpetrated either known as crime or incivilities. We defend, then, that the space where such acts have been practiced are of particular importance as that contributes to criminal practice and influences the perception that people have of the space that surrounds them, and consequently, their own subjective safety. We believe that good planning and space management, grounded in the principles of environmental criminology, are increasingly becoming a very important tool in crime prevention and in reducing the feeling of insecurity. In this sense, we carried out an analysis of the statistics related to the crime participated in the PSP, as well as a study using a questionnaire survey in order to assess the crime that is not participated, the history of victimization of the respondents and the feeling of insecurity.
