"O Mundo CMYK da Serigrafia" - Manual para sistema alternativo de cores para serigrafia

Abstract(s)
Este projeto tem como enfoque a área da produção gráfica, em particular a técnica de impressão em Serigrafia. Pretende-se construir um sistema de aplicação de cores através da sua sobreposição e da utilização do efeito halftone, por forma a obter a representação de novas cores.
A metodologia adotada consiste na revisão da literatura sobre a técnica da Serigrafia, revelando as suas origens, técnicas e procedimentos, assim como as pessoas ou grupos que contribuíram para o seu desenvolvimento. A pesquisa documental é outra etapa fundamental desta investigação, através da recolha de manuais de serigrafia que expliquem o processo da aplicação da cor e os sistemas de separação de cores, mas também com a comparação direta com outros métodos de impressão analógicos semelhantes, como é o caso da risografia. De modo a complementar a investigação foram realizadas entrevistas a dois profissionais da área respondendo a questões relacionadas com os conceitos analisados. Por último, o estudo da teoria da cor e da importância da presença das cores primárias foi fundamental para o desenvolvimento da componente empírica deste estudo – um guia prático.
O guia ou manual de impressão, cujo enfoque é a construção e criação de novas cores, constitui o principal contributo deste projeto, expandindo assim a investigação em design, em específico na área da produção gráfica.
This project focuses on the area of graphic production, especially the silkscreen printing technique. The aim is to build a system for applying colors by overlapping them and using the halftone effect, in order to obtain the representation of new colors. The methodology adopted consists of reviewing the literature on the silkscreen technique, revealing its origins, techniques and procedures, as well as the people or groups that contributed to its development. Documentary research is another fundamental stage of this investigation, through the collection of silkscreen manuals that explain the process of applying color and color separation systems, but also with direct comparison with other similar analog printing methods, such as risography. In order to complement the research, interviews were conducted with two professionals in the area who answered questions related to the concepts analyzed. Finally, the study of color theory and the importance of the presence of primary colors was fundamental for the development of the empirical component of this study – a practical guide. The printing guide or manual, which focuses on the construction and creation of new colors, constitutes the main contribution of this project, thus expanding research in design, specifically in the area of graphic production.
