Em Portugal, está a tornar-se cada vez mais relevante trabalhar as competências de
cidadania com crianças e jovens. Esta dissertação apresenta uma experiência de Educação
Não-Formal, promotora de competências de cidadania junto de um grupo de 10 crianças
e jovens no âmbito do Projeto Bué d'Escolhas.
A Educação Não-Formal é um meio inovador que apresenta novas formas de trabalhar
com esta população, reforçando a sua educação e melhorando as suas competências
pessoais, sociais e emocionais, o que será uma mais valia para um futuro melhor.
A motivação para este trabalho de investigação é o desejo, como voluntária, de contribuir,
melhorar e dar contributos essenciais para o desenvolvimento de competências de
cidadania nas crianças e jovens aqui mencionados. Como resultado do voluntariado com
o Projeto Bué d'Escolhas, foi possível organizar e planear sessões de intervenção de
cidadania, que forneceram pistas futuras para uma intervenção mais eficaz junto das
crianças e jovens. Além disso, a equipa técnica, pais e professores do grupo acima
mencionado estiveram ativamente envolvidos no projeto, contribuindo positivamente
para o desenvolvimento deste trabalho.
In Portugal, it is becoming more and more relevant to work on citizenship skills with children and young people. This dissertation presents an experience of Non-Formal Education, promoting citizenship skills with a group of 10 children and young people from a social project named “Bué d'Escolhas”, which in Portuguese means “A Ton of Choices”. Non-Formal Education is an innovative method that presents new ways of working with this population, reinforcing their education and improving their personal, social and emotional skills, which will greatly increase the chances of having a better future. The motivation for this research work is the desire, as a volunteer, to contribute,improve and provide essential contributions to the development of citizenship skills in children and young people herein mentioned. As a result of this volunteer work with Project "Bué d'Escolhas", it was possible to organize and plan citizenship intervention sessions, which provided future clues for a more effective intervention with children and young people. Furthermore, the technical team, parents and teachers of the aforementioned group were actively involved in the project, contributing positively to the development of this work.
