Abstract(s)
centradas no Inquiry Based Science Education (IBSE). Procurando despertar
do Ensino Básico.
enquadrada no paradigma interpretativo.
atividades motiva a aprendizagem.
favorável a aprendizagens duradouras.
The present research project focus on the promotion of activities centered on Inquiry Based Science Education (IBSE). Seeking a wake up call for science, it fits into the importance of scientific activity in the 1 st Cycle of Basic Education. The core objective of this project is to investigate if the inclusion of IBSE activities arouse the taste and interest in science, and if it is or not a methodology that enhances the appropriation of contents. Following a constructivist line, I have introduced the IBSE perspective through a set of investigative and/or practical, interconnected sequential activities. Each one was based on the interests of the students. The methodology of this study is qualitative and focuses on action research, framed in the interpretative paradigm. The study was carried out in a group of 2 nd year of the first cycle of basic education and the data collection was carried out through the proposed activities. Data analysis reveals the contribution of IBSE activities to promote the taste and interest for science, and that the inclusion of personal interests in activities motivates students learning. The data show that the IBSE, in a perspective of teaching science, is a support for long-term learning.
