Abstract(s)
Posto isto,
The present study aims to analyze the applicability of Game Theory in Organizational Behavior Situations, more specifically to see if it is possible to use games like the Chicken Game, Battle of the Sexes and Prisoner’s Dilemma in situations of Communication, Competition and Cooperation, simple examples that happen every day in any Organization. It was created the following Research Question: Is it possible to apply Game Theory to Organizational Behavior Situations? After that, three hypotheses were created, to understand the applicability of a specific game in a given situation, mainly: H1 Cooperation can be explained through the Prisoner’s Dilemma; H2 Communication can be explained through the Battle of the Sexes; and H3 Competition can be explained through the Chicken Game. For this study, twenty-seven people were interviewed, all employed and working in a team context, who answered a semi-structured interview with eight short questions and ten more open development questions. It was also prepared a simulation with three organizational examples to which Game Theory was applied, to compare to the interview answers. Therefore, it was possible to conclude that it is possible to apply Game Theory in Organizational Behavior situations, although there are some limitations and implications.
